ESA Business Incubation Centre Bavaria in Berchtesgadener Land
Due to increasing demand by young companies - ESA Business Incubation Centre (BIC) Oberpfaffenhofen has been extended by two recently established branch offices in Nürnberg and Berchtesgadener Land, becoming ESA BIC Bavaria in September 2011. This facility is now the largest of five ESA BIC locations in Europe, with a new capacity of 20 incubations per year. At the same time, the initial goal of supporting 40 start-up companies by 2013 has been increased to 70, effectively doubling Bavaria's incubation capacity.
Incubation in the areas and application fields of Mechatronics, Robotics, Telemedicine, SatCom and GMES can be supportes financial as well as by provision of a network with enterprises, research institutions and user organisations.
The Incubation can be supported in form of incentive scheme of up to 60.000 EUR from ESA & Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and loan of up to 40.000 EUR from Sparkasse Berchtesgadener Land for low interest rates.
ESA Business Incubation has an open call for proposals, which means that applications can be submitted at any time.
The formal application procedure is explained in the application and the templates provided should be downloaded from the website www.esa-bic.de and used for the application.
The main requirement for acceptance in ESA's Business Incubation scheme is that the applicant's product or service is based on a transfer of space technology, and/or the utilisation of a space system in a non-space environment.
